Rocks in my Dryer has Works For Me Wednesday. I love reading the many things that work for other people, and thought I would add to the list today.
This week I am visiting my mom in Indiana. The Princess and I packed up and headed north, while the King is south on a mission trip.
When I first traveled with the Princess, I put a lot of tiny baby clothes in a duffel bag and immediately lost track of the outfits that I painstakingly put together. There are so many parts to a baby's outfit, and they get lost very easily. The outfit itself can be from 1-3 pieces. Then you have a onsie, socks, shoes, a hat or bow, and sometimes a sweater or sweatshirt.
Thankfully my friend Martha Marie shared with me her baby packing tip when she and her family came to visit a while ago. She puts the baby's complete outfit in a ziplock bag. Each outfit has its own bag. Then she puts the little bags in her suitcase. This really accomplishes two things at once. One, it keeps outfits together, and keeps the little, tiny pieces from getting lost in the suitcase. Two, it makes it easier to have a family member or friend be able to dress the baby. Just grab a bag, no need to match or fiddle with a bow.
This tip from Martha Marie has really worked for me. I don't always put the shoes in the bag with the outfit, because some shoes will go with more than one outfit. I also put pajamas in one bag, burp rags, wash cloths, and so on. This really works for me!

Great tip! We do the same. I also squeeze all the air out like a Space Bag. When we go somewhere like Disneyland I can easily fit 4 outfits in the backpack for those inevitable diaper blowouts. Then the soiled clothes go right into the empty Ziploc.
