My Mother-In-Law

My mother-in-law is coming today. In fact, she is probably en route right now.

This little piece of information is probably enough to send most women screaming to their therapists to up their meds. But thankfully, I have been blessed. I have an amazing mother-in-law. She is a great mom to my husband, and a wonderful grandma to the Princess. Those two things are enough in my book. But she goes a step further.

She likes me! And I like her.

The castle is freshly cleaned, of course. But even if it wasn't, that would be okay with my mother-in-law. She would probably just offer, non judgementally, to help me out. And that would be okay with me. It would have been a bonding time for the two of us.

The castle was not clean last night! We were at church preparing for our huge Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday. The King was on the phone with his mom, and I could only hear his side of the conversation. He was giving her directions. I thought she was on her way early! But she just wanted to be prepared for today. So we went home and cleaned the castle. Together!

I will not be posting again until Monday (I may post my Super Savings on Saturday. I did good this week!). I am going to take the weekend to enjoy Easter with my family. I hope you can do the same!

So glad you like your MIL! I like mine too. But, there is no replacement for the real thing - my mom! So, how far away are both sets of parents? We are currently 2 hours from Jason's parents, and about 5 1/2 from mine. After our move, we'll be 1 1/2 from my mom, 1 3/4 from my dad, and still 2 from the in-laws. Good distances I think - not too close but not too far either! :-)

Hi there! I'm so happy that you have good relationships with your MIL's! However, for those of you out there who are not so fortunate, I've recently authored a book entitled, The Daughter-in-Law Rules: 101 Surefire Ways to Manage (and Make Friends with) Your Mother-in-Law!

Anyone that would like a copy, I'd be happy to send you an e-book gratis!
