CVS and Kroger Deals

My CVS trip this week was pretty good considering the deals weren't that great. I got all of this and only had to "pay" $2 in ECBs (meaning I paid a certain amount of ECBs (can't remember how much exactly) and got back $2 less than what I gave them.) and $.94 oop! I think that is pretty good!My Kroger trip was amazing this week. Remember my goal was to save as much as I have to pay, at least a 50% savings. My savings this week was...
*Drumroll Please!*
58%
58% with coupons and store savings. I won't bore you with all the details (mostly because I can't remember everthing and I can't find my receipt (it's burried in my coupon box!)), but I will tell you the best part...
Free Chicken!!!
Oh, yes you read that right!
Tyson Chicken was on sale this week for $1.88 per pound, and I had 2 coupons for $3 off of 2 packages (thanks mom). I got 4 packages of the chicken that is cut really skinny (I think they call them tenders) and were priced at about $1.50 each (a little less than a pound each.). So I got almost 4 pounds of chicken for FREE! I also bought a Pur Water Filter. We have been wanting one of those, especially since the Princess is eating foods now. I had a $5 off coupon (not a super great deal, but...), and I got a free water bottle! Something else I have been wanting (not a fan of the plastics, you know!). The water bottle is of this variety.

Not exactly, but you get the idea!
Oh, my new Pur Water Bottle, how I love thee. Let me count the ways!
For more Super Savings Saturday deals you gotta go to Money Saving Mom!

Great deals. We have a coupon for the PUR too and are looking to use it somewhere before it expires.

58% at the grocery store is amazing!

Great job! There's nothing better than getting meat for free.

Okay, I went to CVS last night, coupons and card in hand and...I spent WAY TOO MUCH lol!!! BUT...I got a lot of those ECB's (almost 30I think) so next time my goal will be to spend under than that and earn more bucks. I did get a lot of stuff though and saved on everything I bought.

Hey Jen! Ok...I keep reading all these great stories about people saving lots of money and I really want to be able to do that to!!! The only problem is that I'm clueless when it comes to coupons...my mom never used them a whole lot, so I don't even know where to start collecting them....and how is everybody getting all these amazing deals at CVS??? I keep hearing about it...ok so do you have any ideas for your coupon clueless friend??
