What Was She Thinking???

This is an actual conversation I had with a Lady I Know. Nope, it's not the lady you're thinking of.

Lady I Know: Do you ever do studies for money?
Me: Sometimes. I used to do them a lot, but now that I am breastfeeding, I can't. They won't let me bring the Princess.
LIK: What about the diaper studies? Did you sign up for those? Free diapers!
Me: No, actually I cloth diaper.
LIK: (with grimmacing look on her face) Oh, I cloth diapered mt first baby (implying that I would give up.).
Me: (smile, pretend I care)
LIK: I just signed up my 7 year old for a study.
Me: (again, smile, pretend I care)
LIK: It pays $300!
Me: That's a lot of money!
LIK: Yeah, all you have to do is give your 1st, 2nd or 3rd grader dietary supplements!
Me: (shocked, pretending not to be horrified!)
LIK: It's (insert name of company), they're good.

I walked away from the situation at that point. I am sure the Lady I Know did not want my opinion on the matter. But I am going to share it here with you.

What was she thinking!! First off, I don't really want to give my child anything that I don't know what it is. I'm not too keen on giving the Princess anything that isn't natural.

Secondly, the reason it is a study, is to study the effects on people. Meaning, they don't know.

Why would she do that to her child?!?!?
FYI: the studies I do are marketing studies, the kind where stores want to know what display sells better, or what packaging is more attractive.

OMGoodness, I have a 7 year old and I would never do that. I wouldn't even be a test dumbie myself. Poor child so helpless in it all. I hope what ever they are giving the 7 year old isn't bad. I'm sorry but I'm just mortified and in shock.

Oh and I have plenty of poop stories I just haven't had time to link to that one post.
